  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

I've used stretch boots for ages, fairly easy to fit using the cone and plenty of lube...I'm lucky now in having an air powered tool to stretch them
Most garages will use this method, much quicker for them

That's exactly what I did and for the same reason.

I took the driveshaft to my local independant specialist who removed the CV joint from the shaft, fitted the new boot kit I supplied and refitted the joint to the shaft. They charged me £20. A lot cheaper than me potentially wrecking the thing trying to get it apart.

They did comment that if they were doing the job themselves, they'd use a stretch boot.
