They work very well and take all of the "roll back" out of the handbrake system, plus you can accurately adjust the shoes/drum clearance using the cog. I managed to reduce the free play from 7 clicks* to 3 clicks** from fully off to fully on with no brake binding or rubbing. For what it is worth the handbrake alone will stop the car in a much shorter distance after modification using the 850 style adjusters.

NB
7 clicks* the previous 7 clicks to fully on was the best I could achieve adjusting the cable at the handbrake lever.

3 clicks ** achieved by backing off the adjuster at the handbrake lever and adjusting on brake adjuster cogs on both sides.

You need one of these for each rear wheel.

Default BASIC relavent question

Besides the bit of grease on the backing plates (common to all shoe set-ups), is there anyplace on these cog-screw adjusters which need lube or are they run dry?

Put some coppaslip on the thread of the adjuster before screwing them in and also on the other end that pops into the tube
