S80 2.4 breaking for parts

Hi! Finally my beloved Volvo has broken my heart and patience. ETM failed, replacement unit does not work, unless i buy a new one to get software flash with the dealership, otherwise they refuse to flash a second hand unit. And I am out of luck finding a second-hand ETM with MM part number 8644344
So I have an old and trustworthy 850 that I will start using.
Therefore I have decided that the only way forward is to seel S80 in parts and spares form.
It is silver colour, black leather interior, 173k miles on the clock, automatic, everything else is in really great condition! Sorry to see it go! Any parts available! PM or call 07816282615 for parts other than ETM Based in Edinburgh, so postage or collection is possible.

TELL them you want them to flash the ETM, it's your money and your responsibility if it doesn't work... I've had second hand parts flashed by the main dealer in the past (they don't like doing it but will if you're firm with them) if not go to any Volvo indi who has a software account and get them to do it

Hey thanks, i did push them, but main technician i spoke to said it will not work, unless i want to blow 70 quid for software upgrade, the only independent chap around Edinburgh, actually in Fife does not have software account - so the other option is towing to Glasgow? too far out.. so still waiting for parts list to provide with

that volvo tech is talking out of his arse mate, i have had mine flashed twice now (first unit was faulty) so it can be done and does work. Both times done at volvo they charged me £55.73 each time.

Simon, which Volvo dealers? i used to service at triangle in north london and they said they could do it, but edinburgh lazy buggers cannot be bothered with anything at all. will give another try this week, by personally nagging them again, but doubt would be of use.

I require a Drivers Door Window module / switch
with a PN of 8622039 or from an S80 from 98/99/00 to try.

Would you have one and if so how much with postage plz.

Hi Joe, i do have one - is it the interior module which controls all 4 windows or is it the motor that controls the drivers window?
where do you need it posting? Presume if it the interior module it should be around 20 quid for the part + postage at cost. I could take it off for you over the weekend and post on tuesday once they open up?
It should work on all models as there is no linkage to the main ECU computer.

Hi Max,
Unfortunatly it's not that simple. It is the unit that controls all the windows and mirrors from the drivers door. BUT it IS computer linked, and unless it's the same part number it will be of no use what so ever.

I have tried units from the same year as mine (99/2000) but different part numbers. These will operate the drivers window only, the central locking fails as does all other windows / mirrors, a fault code is tripped and even the clock/temp display, all pack up, when this goes.
So it MUST BE part number 8622039.
