hi there trying to set up a rolling road day in newcastle upon tyne for sat the 25th april 09 for as many volvos as possible venue is set just need numbers before i can book need at least 10 to make it worth it and i'm also planning on getting in touch with practical performance to see if they want to do a spread on it price depends on how many go but based on 10 cars will be £45 per car tested and might be cheaper the more cars that come meting time will be 9am at the mcdonalds car park in the team vally venue is a 2 min drive from here it is a 4WD rolling road so AWD volvo's welcome and other manufactures maybe welcome but volvo's get priority will need a £10 deposit before the end of march(non refundable unless event cancelled) and the rest to be paid at the event or you can pay up front is up to you as i will be booking it for the day so we will have exclusive use of this venue

if i dont get enough volvo's to come it will be an open event as i have a jap group of about 5 cars (mostly honda's) as back up

What would the meet involve, i might be iterested, but is a V70 classic cross country the right sort of vehicle for this?

basically all that is involved is turning up with a volvo of any model and what they do is put it on a rolling road and test the bhp of your car so i will use mine as an example book say's that when mine was new it had 143bhp its now 14 years old so its probibly lost some ponnies and they will tell you where it has flat spots in the power band and give you a print out of your power curve to show you where the power is and if it is down on power they will also advise you of what needs doing to get your donkies back or load more into it so its basically just lets you know what the performance is from your engine

i was begaining to think no one was up for it i have seen loads of tweaked volvo's around newcastle so think i might get a few flyers made up to put under wiper blades lol

ok i need to know numbers for how many are going to be coming to this in the next week or so, so i can book it as if i leave it much longer the date will be lost and it will have to be reorginised for a different date or if there is no one else its going to be cancelled altogether which i dont want but if it does get cannceled i will probly book a single session for me as so i need numbers by the 25 march or it will be cancelled as i'm not inviting the jap lot as i want a volvo do
