Air Con: 70: - compressor not engaging

Hi excuse my ignorance because I know very little when it comes to air con,problem I have is the compressor doesn't engage I've swapped the relay for a new one and still no joy bypassed the relay and the compressor springs into life could it just be low gas any ideas appreciated

If it needs re gassing, it won't work.

No it won't. I've had a couple like this. I think the gas lubricates the compressor.

Re gas was my next thought now I know compressor runs hopefully that will sort it It's only an issue now the suns out thanks a lot

Just had my S60 done and it's perfect now. Cost £30.

I think I'll try and get it in tomorrow hopefully that will sort it a/c scares me a bit I'll have a mess with most things but some stuff best left to the experts

The gas seeps out slowly over the years even when it's working properly and a/c can be prone to spring a leak on cars at this age it's the normal reason for the a/c failing.

There is two valve. Low and high pressure. Pop off plug and join two terminal. If it works,valve issue, if not top up gas.
