Avrcp 1.4
Do any current Volvos have AVRCP 1.4?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...le_.28AVRCP.29 https://www.bluetooth.org/docman/han...?doc_id=119996 I have a 2013.5 S60 with 7" screen, enhanced sound, etc, and all it can show me is what's currently playing from my phone, pause, and back and forwards - all pretty basic, crap controls, and indicative of AVRCP 1.3. There's no playlist browsing or selection, search, etc AVRCP 1.4 came out in 2008, so I would expect it to be available in a car from 2013. My Galaxy S2 supports it, as it runs Android 4.4, as does my wife's Nexus. I spoke to Volvo customer services about this, and they said I would need to talk to the garage about it. Of course, when I spoke to my dealers service manager he was self confessed non-technical and could only tell me to check my phone on Volvos website for compatibility - which goes as far as saying "Yes, you can stream music" :-/ So, what can people tell me about software updates? The service manager confirmed I have the latest Bluetooth suite, but wouldn't be able to do much until I had checked my phone. Has anyone ever had any success chasing a feature request into Volvo? The customer services guy said it should be possible, but would have to be done via the dealer. My £30k+ car has the same music control features as a cassette deck - and Volvo talk about wanting 'conquests' of the 'younger generation'? :-( |

I know all this because I have made many suggestions to Volvo about the 'infotainment' systems and satnav and my dealer is at a loss on the status or even acceptance of the suggestions, as is Volvo Customer Care. Two have popped out of the system and resulted in the volume of the system at system switch-on being the same as when you switch it off, rather than the almost silence that we did have and they have changed the night colours of the satnav to make it a bit easier. Now whether my suggestions had any impact or whether it is simply luck that these have been corrected is anyone's guess, though I think that I know the truth
