Default XC60 D4 Polestar

Hi, i have a 2016 FWD xc60 D4 manual wondering anyone with the same engine got polestar.
If so can you tell me what performance difference also your mpg please?
I'm thinking of getting it just wanted to know the advantages in doing so.

AWD or FWD?

I had my 2016 D4 AWD auto done about a year into ownership and it definitely pepped up the performance without any noticeable difference in MPG

I would say getting it done on the auto is more worthwhile as the gearbox software is also updated while in a manual car, you only get the engine done so it feels quite pricey

No idea on the effect on a FWD car but you only get an extra 10bhp on the 2.0 D4 so again the value is less compared with the 30bhp extra on the 2.4 D4

Polestar is a waste of money. Get BSR instead.

Andy,
got our 17 plate XC60 auto gearbox FWD 2.0 'polestarred' earlier this year and it has been great. A little quicker off the mark, more responsive. But the biggest change has to be when driving that the power seems to be there constantly underfoot. That is the best way I can describe it. Lifetime average MPG has also risen since it was done, as recorded by the Volvo app. Managed to get it done for an amazing price!
Try and 'test drive' a car that has it done. Volvo usually offer the chance to 'undo' it if it does not suit you. Hope this helps you make up your mind.

I got mine done as it retained the volvo warranty and also did the gearbox. I think most 3rd party tuners simply can't do that. You'll probably get more power from them but with potential for trouble down the line

I had it for 3,5 years and 40 000 miles without trouble. Afaik the only thing they did for the gearbox was to limit the torque on low gears.
