Talking What are the syptoms of a knackered transfer box

I have a V70 AWD. When I corner I get consistent mechanical clunking from the rear and it travels along the prop. It does it when cornering in both directions. I see that the car has had 2 new rear drive shafts and a viscous coupling by a previous owner. There is also play/ backlash of a few degrease in the prop. Do I have the symptoms of a knackered transfer box or is it my prop bearings that might be causing all the racket? Many thanks

Just an update, I have noticed that when I am reversing around corners, I don't get any of the problem noises. So just to summaries, my car makes a mechanical noisy clunking when turning in both directions whilst going forwards
