Ahh great so have you sorted a pulley and are able to turn the engine over now?
Yes in the VIDA instructions you take the pulley off , how else do you get the lower plastic cover off? the reason is to allow the lower cambelt drive sprocket to swivel to equalise the tension in the two sides of the cambelt , then when the tension is correct you tighten the lower pulley bolt last to clamp up the cam drive sprocket . Cam timing is then spot on rather than approximate .

All fixed now though, the culprit in the end was a seized fuel pump that snapped the keyway, twice! Ended up with a fully refurbed cylinder head including cams and a used fuel pump. Had a "alarm system service required" message at first but that seems to have gone now (hopefully for good) also got a small oil leak but I know where its coming from and I'll fix that when I do my flywheel next week then hopefully my car will be tip top. Thanks for all your help and suggestions. |
