240 General: - Spotlights

Hi Guys, Thinking of getting some Spotlights for my 89 GL Estate,,!!
And looking for the modern ones that are the best and brightest,
could someone point me in the right direction.. regards Adrian,,!!

Hella Rallye 2000 are a good size for the240 grille size
they are not too big and well made

Thanks for that info Andrew,,,i am also looking to upgrade my headlamp blubs to LEDs,, H4 i believe are good but what make would you or any other member suggest....?? for my 89 gl estate, regards Adrian..

I fitted a set of round ones behind the grille, pendant-style from the bonnet landing panel on two of my 240s. They were just generic round units, nothing expensive or fancy.

Originally they were wired to a separate switch so I could use them instead of flashing main-beams - the 240's have a latching relay for dip/main - but ended up rewiring them to only come on with main beam.

I did this also. I think these were Hella Rallye 2000 also.

LED headlights would not be legal on a 1989 motorcar:
