Default Replacing High Performance Amplifier

I have an intermittent sound issue which seems to be coming from the Amplifier. I have recently acquired another amp of the same model number. When installed the radio works for about 10 or 20 seconds then switches off, and won't switch on again. Replacing with the original makes it work again

I'm guessing the headunit is paired in some way with the amp. How do I get the two to work together.
Its a 2004 model if that matters.

Thanks, Nathan

Hi Nathan

Do you know the replacement amp works 100% without fault?

Shutting down like that could indicate a blown channel.. ... although it may need paired, I would hope not!

I can check if it does need paired, but not right now.

Hmm - Just read a bit more and spoken to the local Volvo dealership.

Apparently you need to make software downloads to the MOST system to switch off security and potentially control downloads to the Amp.

Any experts on this that don't charge the earth!

Thanks

Did you consider getting your old amp repaired?

It may be just a simple dry joint.

Where would I go to get the old amp repaired. I'm sure it is a dry joint.
