Early V50 ?.
I'm interested in buying a V50, read somewhere the diesels are to be avoided due to engine issues is this the case ?, I'd probably prefer a petrol version with the manual gearbox so if you know of one I would appreciate the info. Thanks.

I don't remember where I read it but I think a tech was saying a lot of them went through their workshop, what were the problems ?, tbh I don't do a lot of miles so economy isn't the main criteria.

Early ones had a Ford clutch those will have been changed to the usual volvo quality now . Additive tanks running dry due to poor servicing outside the dealers , the word has got around now that they need topping up at 36000 mile intervals . If you want a petrol then seek out that T5 as the 2.4 i is just as thirsty without the extra power .
