They have been OK since but I haven't done a huge amount of miles. As I said though you might as well fit new ones if they have any signs of cracking.
Must be you I have been talking to elsewhere about this. I posted some of these pictures there today not knowing you had found my old thread.

One of my fleet is doing this too, I have already replaced all the bottom parts, so I was guessing its the shock that hasn't been replaced in 160k. This thread is a good read though, I hadn't thought the top bush could be worn.

Do you think it was the shock in the end?

Mine were doing this and have stripped it all down tonight and the shocks are fine.

I've not discussed it with you elsewhere Steve!

It isn't you on Retro Rides then ! You aren't the only one fixing front suspension out there.

Do you have a double or does Retro rides have an alternate reality

We talked about camber mods but don't recall discussing the play. I must be going mad. Yes it's me on retro rides sorry ha ha.

I plan to nibble a bit off the top mount insert itself rather than drilling out the washer, may or may not work but at least it's still clamped metal on metal that way.

If you do decide to go that route make sure there is enough thread on the shock absorber.
Thinking about it now a shorter insert would be easier assuming you could hold it. It would be better to machine it as it needs to be flat and square to the hole. I can't remember now if the thread length is the reason I didn't do it like that or that I just like doing things the difficult way !

Jesus, where do we reply, here or there?

I hadn't noticed you'd put the pics on there Steve, wouldn't have bothered bumping this if I'd have seen it.

Time to just copy and paste I think !

I used to only post on here and have only recently come back for a look to see what's going on. There seems to be a few 740's and 940's on RR now so I thought I would try and share what little knowledge on there as it doesn't seem to be appreciated on here.
I've also got a group on Facebook that's got a few members now which is a surprise, especially as I have been busy with other projects and haven't put much on there.

I joined here as I thought Volvo people would be a helpful bunch but I'm not feeling the love too much to be honest.

Which Facebook group is it?
