Next Irish Meeting

Hi all,

The next Irish Meeting will be held in the Bloomfield House hotel ( scene of our first meeting) in Mullingar on the 12-Aug-2007 from noon onwards.

For those considering making a weekend out of it, the hotel have a special offer ( per person sharing for 2bb and 1 dinner) of :

Saturday and Sunday for 165e (111GBP)

or

Sunday and Monday for 139e (93GBP).

The town of Mullingar is approx 2.5 hr drive from Dublin .For those who may consider coming over from the UK you can get the Ferry from Holyhead to Dublin ( approx 3.5 hrs trip ) and its about a 3hr drive from Belfast.

Pending a straight forward MOT two weeks before, the missus and I will be down in the 480!

We may make a weekend of it and camp close by.

Hi Bren,
Sounds excellent. I probably will pop down for a day trip with Mama & Baba as we have exams in our house. Also I may be turning up in something other than the 240

. Turns out the bus has done far more damage than initially suspected.

Hope to see everyone again. We really enjoyed the last get-together!

Hi everyone, Haven't been about for a while but great news that another meet is arranged. Count me in. I will book the weekend off on Monday to ensure that I can get down on Sunday for the day.

hi all,

so far it looks like its going to be a good turn up on the day with possibly 2 * P1800, 1 * amazon, 1*140, 1*240, 1* 740, 2 * 850, 1 *960 , 2 * 850 T5's and other besides.

I aim to be there early (11:30) just to confirm all ok with the rest due to roll in around 12:30'sh.

As in the past there will be a meal but this time I think we may give the Carvery a go.

For those of you who haven't confirmed with me can you let me know so that i can confirm with the hotel.

The missus and I are looking forward to our first Volvo meet. Unfortunately due to insurance reasons we won't be down in the 245, but we will be down in full Volvo style giving the grubby 480 an appearance!

We've made a tent reservation at Lough Ennell Caravan Park for the Saturday night, which I believe is only a few minutes down the road so we'll be at Bloomfield House nice and early to join you on Sunday morning, Brendan.

Here's to hoping the weather is good. I've got quite a bit of catching up to do with my dusty bottle of Pernod, my camping-only consumption.

Excellent diminutive meeting today guys - Only four Volvos but better than no meet at all. It was great to put a few names to faces and check out what owners-alike own. The weather was quite dodgy (the whole weekend for that matter!), it’s just a shame we didn’t get a chance to take a nice run out somewhere, but plenty of future meets for that action.

My girlfriend and I heading down to Mullingar yesterday and camped over at Lough Ennell Caravan Park – the tenting green was a near-wash out and the toilet facilities were poor but we wish we’d made a full weekend of it none-the-less – look forward to next weekend away!

Here are a few pictures of my 480 around Lough Ennell and then of the meet today. It was my first time around a P1800 and even though the front still has to grow on me, they are a lovely, lovely car. Couldn’t get enough of the tan leather in the 244GLT; I want!

The missus and I look forward to the next meeting - anywhere and anytime. Hopefully next time we’ll be showing up in the 245.

many thanks for the great photo's of the cars on the day. yes the turn out was below par but we'll put that down to the holiday season and weather. Fair dues to you both for Camping out in that weather . I look forward to seeing that 245 in the flesh thats for sure

it was great meeting up with you both and thanks for making the effort in coming down. thanks also to John and Linda ( P1800), Ivor (960) , Don
( donny) and family who traveled in a scenic as his 245 is a wee bit sick at present. for coming along .
