Default Dodgy seller warning - 2006 v70 D5 Weybridge

I was going to check out this 2006 v70 D5 today but the seller seems very dodgy.

First off the car is being advertised as a 2006 when it's actually a 2005 model as can be seen by the plate, but I thought that might have been a genuine mistake.

More importantly, it's advertised as having only 2 owners, after carrying out a paid for online check (£10) I found it had actually had 4.
Report attached.

Lastly, he had advertised it initially as around £1,800 then dropped it to £1,549 a few days ago.
So I arranged to see it today, but when I wake up this morning I see he has increased the price to £1,995!

While I would hesitate to cast aspersions upon anyone's integrity, it would seem that the vendor may certainly be less than familiar with the car. The 1.0 litre engine referenced in the advert would ring warning bells for me!

If you are unhappy about the anomalies surrounding this particular car, 'BlueRubber', then simply walk away. I'm sure that there will be others more worthy of your inspection. Also, I would be a little more circumspect regarding naming people publically in this way, on the basis of one advertisement - it could come back to bite you!

Regards, John.

My XC70 always comes up at a 2004 if you check the reg plate,
yet I know for a fact form the VIN and electrical system its actually a 2005 car.

So just going by the reg number is never a guarantee of the cars actual build model basted on year only its registration date.

Ref the 1.0 listing, thats a FB marketplace quirk, there is no 2.4 option

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I would delete this thread if I could, but I don't seem to have the option available.

56 plages registrations went on cars regiatered between September 1st 2006 and February 28th 2007, so tours is not at all unusual.

Perhaps the owners were within same family. I remember my beetle had three owners added as it passed from me to my daughter and back to me.
