  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Well, I didn't know that. It explains a lot. That should be in the FAQ, because my bet is; most of us won't know either. Me? Never seen such a thing, these don't seem to survive. Have you pix? When you say tethered, do you mean:

a) Tethered to the battery-tray or similar such that it can't go-on-holiday?
(can't think where I stole that phrase)
b) Tethered to fix the retention clip in place as well?

Now I know this thing exists - or in my case, did - I'm out there to have a look.

Yes, factory fitment. One end is attached to the clip and the other to the battery tray. No photo at present as I am in Portugal and the cars are in the UK. The hole in the battery tray for the cord is in the left hand front corner in the base of the tray. The cord hangs down from the tray and then comes up to the clip in a U shaped formation - about 100mm long. - a simple knot at each end. My previous V40 had one and both my current cars have them.

Edit. Tethered as in a. The clip attaches to the tray in the usual manner.
