Default Sensus Connect - Import gpx POI's

Having recently bought a 2014 XC60, I now hove my first car with built in satnav.

I'd like to export my POI files from a Tomtom Go500 and import them into the vehicles satnav.

I know I need to create a *.GPX file for the import, but how do I get the POI's out of Tomtom and maybe convert them?

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Lawrence

Hi Lawrence,
Getting them out of TomTom will depend on what type of TomTom installation you have, e.g. standalone satnav device or smartphone app. In my case, I can import/export to TomTom Go on my iPhone (which I use when hiring cars) using iMazing.
Once you have the ov2 file out of TomTom, you can use the GPS Edit tool at https://www.gps-data-team.com/convert/ to change formats: it's free and pretty straightforward to use.
Regards,
Julian.

Many thanks for that.

I did come accross many posts on a similar subject and came accross that link, but could'nt quite get them right in my head.

So far, I have found an export feature in Tomtom MyDrive to get the POI (this is realy a download strored cloud data):

Then, I've opened the file in Excel and manually fettled it.

Stuck a usb stick in the car and exported a file.
Opened this up in notepad to see the format (headers, structure etc)

Found "XML Notepad" - imported the file and added new sections from my spreadsheet. Did a test and it worked :-)

I'm happy where I am at the moment, but would like to find a POI management toot for Sensus Connect.

Currently, I can:Lawrence
