Smile '73 B20 145 Fuel injection to Carb conversion...HELP!

Hi There,

First time poster with a big issue. I'm desperate to get my mint (bodywise) 1973 big bumper B20 145 up and running again after being forgotten by its previous owner for several years. The problem is with the Bosch fuel injection system. No matter what I try it runs like a pig so the decision has been made to see if the whole system can be binned for a carburettor set up. I'm on a pretty tight budget so I'm hoping someone out there has a spare carb and manifolds going cheap )

It goes without saying any sharing of do's and dont's of FI to card conversions on a B20 warmly recieved too.

Thanks
Paul

clean up all contacts, it will run beautifully. Don't forget the ground strap to the engine. Be careful with the throttle position sensor. No brushing there, because of gold covered surfaces. There is a great trouble shooting guide online. The one with the cartoon on the front page.

Thanks for the guide. I'll have another go at fixing the system. The request still stands for a carb and manifolds for a conversion if anyone know where I can get them...just in case )

as i feel this is a UK forum and im stateside this might not be doable. i believe redline? makes a manifold to run a Weber 32/36 carb on the b20. im running that. seemed to be the easiest to source down. i have the exact set up you do. 1973 and all. I had to install freeze plugs into the block where to injectors were. there is a stock carb set up you can run but those are getting harder and harder to find decent carbs

Hi, Thanks for your post. Its an interesting option but I'm limited to used parts due to budget constraints so I'm holding out for some second hand bits turning up. Its only a matter of time and persistence
