Default 100 series spotted in The Sweeney.

Yesterday's episode of The Sweeney featured a white 100 series saloon (side view only so I couldn't tell model), chauffeur drive though.

If you want to trace episode it was the one with - a very young - John Hurt who plays a computer expert.

Default You're nicked!

I think the film company owned a yellow 145 because it appears several times in different episodes as I recall. Interestingly there's a yellowish 142 in one episode of 'Life on Mars' too.
I noticed recently that a fan of the series found the original Mk1 Granada from the opening sequence and is putting back on the road.

I bet that car will need new shockers all round ?

And a new head lining as they all smoked 60 Senior Service in each programme .

Default Ford

Friend of mine used to drive them back in the 80s, Consul GTs and Granada Mk1s. He built a very hot engine which was used in 3 or 4 cars with stiffened springs and fancy dampers. When the car got bent he'd just swap all the good bits over to another one. They were very, very fast - 3.0 V6 with multi barrel carbs.
(I better correct myself here, as the car in the Sweeney title sequence is a Consul GT, I understand, built before they changed the name)

As this has changed to a Ford thread(!) I'll add that the hottest Granadas were Perana's - these had V8s.
