740 brake discs-will they fit my 240??

I have been offered a 1986 740 estate for spares and wonder which parts are interchangable-has anybody had and experience??

The rear brake discs are the same and basically the engines and gearboxes are the same with obviously model specific 'bolt on' bits being different.
Front brakes are not compatible.
