Default 245 rear side window

Hi there, wondering if anyone can help.

I have a 1975 245DL, with a smashed O/S rear side window (the long one).

In this window the same on all 245s and later 240s? I see one on ebay but it's advertised as 1983-1993.

Also any ideas if there are different tints to the windows on different years?

Any info very much appreciated.

John

Hi Jaypee,

I'm no expert on this but I had to replace the same window in my '92 240 about 15 months ago. The replacement came out of a mid-80's 240 and fitted perfectly. I'm not 100% sure this will be the case for the very early cars, and I'm sure someone here will know, but hopefully you'll gain some comfort from hearing that it was a very easy swap regardless.

Hope that helps,

Alex

I just looked on the gcp.se/katalog site for both the early and the latest (1988-93) cars but as I don't have windows in my hand can't compare their actual differences (if any).
The later cars only have #1312807-9 and 1312808-7 listed (near and off-side) but the early years offered no less than 9 options, none being the above. As I can't speak Swedish I couldn't work out the side-notes (which included tints): maybe someone else can help.

I beleieve that the very early 245 rear side windows are the same as the late 145 ones, being in two parts; otherwise the only diferences are the tint colour and the fact that very late models (J/K prefix?) had the radio antenna wired into the nearside glass.
