Well due to body clock still being out of sync it was dark before I had a chance to have a quick look at the car today.

Tried fitting Grom unit to find that the harness is not the correct one. While I had the stereo out ( HD803 ) I did notice that it had what appeared to be the cd auto changer cable plugged in the back. Subsequent investigation around the interior of the car though did not reveal a cd changer.

I have so far not been able to find where this cable gets routed to either as I cannot find the other end anywhere. I can only assume that the cable is part of the std loom, as my guess is that the changer would be mounted to the base of the rear parcel shelf in the boot area normally.

On the antenna front I only had a couple of mins to hunt around but by pure chance I spotted a white connector with one black wire protruding sat in the rear boot well that was not connected to anything. After then burying my head into this area I then spotted a white female connector coming through the bodywork. I am guessing this is the same connector indicated on Thassos picture of the rear bumper assembly and this then pushes into the boot well area. I have attached a picture of the forsaid connector to this thread.

I have not had opportunity to check the radio performance as yet but fingers crossed this may have been the cause of the issues. My guess is it was missed when rear parking sensors were fitted to the vehicle.

On a side note there is a green box near this connector, does anyone know its function ? and is that a reset button on the side of it ?

Footnote :
----------
Just read another thread re din connectors on rear of stereo, it maybe the amplifier cable I was looking at ? , it is plugged in on the right hand din nearest the edge of the stereo unit and I have already seen tonight that I have the amp under my drivers seat when hunting for the cd changer. This makes me think I need to plug the grom harness in the left hand side din. I shall go and have a look again shortly to see if the din is different on the left and is correct configuration for the harness I have at present.

Isn't the green box the aerial amplifier? Dunno what happens if you press the grey button, but what's the worst that can happen...

You may be correct Simon, however unit is bolted to chassis and I cannot tell if the black wire is connected to it due to the awkward viewing location.

I have confirmed my suspicions on the Grom harness and it does actually fit. Tested audio quality and very impressed. I did however forget to test the radio reception DOH ! , was too engrossed in the mp3`s playing from the phone...

Fixed My signal problem.

Looked around as per the pictures in this thread. Seems the newer face lift has slight mods that are not there.

Anyway after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting the battery still no luck.

Finally checked the fuses even though the radio worked etc (Just really poor fm signal) Pulled 20amp fuses fm drivers side panel nothing wrong with it. Put fuse back in and Audio system basically rebooted FM signal now working Yeah

Which 20-A fuse(s) did you remove.

If you removed more than one fuse, did you remove them all at one time or sequentially, i.e., remove one and reinstall it before removing another . . .

It was the 20amp top right fm the drives side panel. This was on my S60 55 plate so not sure on other modules
Its in the manual just says Audio.

I removed one at a time and replaced
