Default S60 2005 Power Folding Mirrors - Does Not Unfold All The Way

Hi!

I have a 2006 S60 with the Power Folding Mirrors feature. The left side mirror functions perfectly fine - upon pressing the button in the center console it fully folds and unfolds. However, the right side mirror struggles - upon pressing the button it unfolds just a little bit, and then pressing the button again it folds back. In other words, the right side button does not unfold all the way. It feels like the motor inside the right side mirror is sort of struggling, like it would have some resistance to fully unfold. Check out the video of the issue here: https://youtu.be/dKtB5-WrRME. Has anyone else experienced this? I would truly appreciate some advice on how to proceed with fixing this.

PS I must note that both mirrors are folding/unfolding in the same direction - this is NOT the common case when they would fold/unfold in inverse directions.

Thanks!

Update:
Alright so to recap. I have a 2005 S60 with power folding mirrors. One of the mirrors is struggling to fully unfold. Here's a video of the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR7NaQqOv2o

It seems that cleaning the actuator/gears could fix the problem. So today I attempted to take the side mirror apart, but after removing the plastic cover and the mirror glass I was stuck. Does anyone have any idea how to take the mirror assembly apart in order to get to the actuator? I have marked the actuator (manufactured by IKU) with the red bullet in the photo.

Hi, yes I resolved the issue. I fully took apart the mirror. It turned out, that it is simply a bad design choice by Volvo. The issue is not in the actuator. Instead, it is the plastic. You see, as time passes by, something changes in the mirror assembly and the plastic parts start rubbing against each other, which makes the mirror get stuck during the automatic unfolding/folding. I simply sanded the affected areas on those plastic parts until the point where there was no more friction. You actually do not need to take the whole mirror apart - simply pop the little cover underneath the mirror, there unscrew the three screws and that will partially separate both parts allowing you to sand the affected areas.

I attached some images with notes in Latvian language: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y4pujtyys...QAvD_jeza?dl=0
I also did a video during investigation:

I get this problem in the summer when the sun has been shining on the driver's door mirror. It won't unfold unless it is helped by pushing it out with my hand. The interior plastics expanding and rubbing could well explain it. Not that much of a problem at the moment as we don't get much sun in Ireland but something to look at if it gets any worse.
