USB Stick Max Length?
Hi - I'm waiting for delivery of my V40 - still a couple months wait left. I want to buy a USB memory stick so I can put all my music on one 64GB device (with lossless compression). I want a quick one too, but these are usually longer. Please could someone let me know the max length available for a USB stick before it fouls the centre console lid? I don't want to buy one only to find out it doesn't fit.
Many thanks. |

Nice one, thanks - I wasn't sure as the manual says about needing a cable between the stick and the plug if running a longer one which obscures the lid - so I assumed there was little room.

Plenty of room , but a short USB extension cable would take any strain/wear from the socket .

I-S pointed me in the way of these, it's not 64gb but it will easily fit underneath and shouldn't get caught and put any strain on the socket.

Thanks tt82, I considered that smaller type like you linked, but they typically copy at 6MB/s, whereas the larger faster ones copy at around 120-200MB/s. The smaller ones would therefore take 3 hours to fill up 64GB. The larger type will only take 10 minutes - quite a big difference.
These are the ones I'm considering: SanDisk Cruiser Extreme 7.1cm long. Corsair Voyager GT unknown length. Kingston DTHX 7.5cm length. So worst case, is there at least 8cm available in the V40? |
