Default Sytner acquire Rybrook

I'm interested if any forum members have experience with Sytner now that they have acquired the Rybrook Volvo dealerships.

My experience with Rybrook in Warrington was generally very good - although sometimes stressful trying to get to their site through the evening Warrington traffic to pick up my previous V70 (bought from them in 2009) after going in for a service and MoT. When I replaced that car with my present V90 in the middle of the Covid pandemic in 2021 I thought that I would try a newer Volvo dealership opened since then in southeast Greater Manchester and a bit closer to home.

My mistake! Not to say too much on a public forum (and you'll notice I'm carefully not naming them) but my experience there has been far less happy - and at last years' service in December not really acceptable as I told a manager at the time, and from which I've to date recieved no followup.

So, this year I was planning to take my service business back to Rybrook. However, with the recent change in ownership of the Warrington Volvo dealership I thought it would be worth asking the forum whether the levels of service were likely to go down, stay much the same or (possibly) improve.

Any thoughts welcome.

If trustpilot on 43,000 reviews is anything to go by, it should be OK https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.sytner.co.uk

I too have had very good service from Rybrook Volvo since my start of Volvo ownership some 27 years ago.

The publicity says that Rybrook will become part of Syntner Group and not be run separately so I imagine there will be some changes as Rybrook is integrated into Syntner Group.

I have no experience of Syntner Group but I hope that it will result in similar levels of service as provided by Rybrook currently.

Anyone else had experience with Syntner?

Over the last 45 years I have found when a volvo dealer gets taken over the old staff remain . That's 3 times I have experienced it. However what a new dealer is set up from scratch that's not the case with odd staff scrounged from anywhere and everywhere.

I also stopped using the dealer in SE Manchester after some dubious service / warranty experiences. Feeling the need to double check service advice with Volvo isn’t ideal, though it did save me £950 (by rejecting the dealership opinion).

I tried Holdcroft in Stoke and was delighted - they restored my faith in the Volvo brand. I bought my current V90 from them and had what’s probably my best car buying experience to date.

Subsequent visits have been very positive experiences with me getting exactly what I expected. If I recall correctly they automatically applied discounts for parts on cars that were out of warranty.

When you say SE Manchester, do you mean Stockport ?
