Hi all,

I have watched Robert's video a few times. It seems like a very tricky job to do right. Difficult to salvage a used seal and glass, and very difficult to refit.

Depending on the situation, I would recommend contacting your insurance to see if replacement would be covered by them (and let them get an experienced fitter to do the work).

If you need to do it yourself, I don't know where you can buy the new glass and seal. Probably try Volvo or some other autoglass specialist.

HTH
Steve

Might want to check the prices of windscreens vs side windows, in the past I've found a new side window to be painfully expensive, probably because they don't sell in the same volume as windscreens so there's less competition.

Good point, David, to which the chap alluded at the start of his video. Might a better alternative be for 'SIAMBLUE' to practice the technique on a scrap vehicle (if one should be conveniently available) rather than risking unnecessary and expensive damage to his own.

I suppose it boils down to how confident one is; I don't think that I would want to risk it on mine, especially when the 'glass' excess on my insurance is only £75 and a claim would not affect my NCB.

Regards, John.
