"Auto" electric window button?
The driver's window button says "auto".
Am I missing out on some sort of snazzy feature here? I can't get it do do anything 'auto' other than close or open the window when I press it, which is frankly the very least I would expect from a window button!

Its two stage, if you press beyond one 'notch' the window should go all the way down with no further input. Doesn't work for 'up', at least not on mine it doesn't.

Ha!
Never noticed! Be more useful going up rather than down really...

Think not having auto up is volvo being over safety conscious.
saying that i tested the supposed safety stop on the Saab 95 using a kit kat chunky.....glad it was a kit kat or i would have been spending the night in A&E having my fingers put back on.

If you hold the switch down
the window goes down until you let go of the switch If you click the switch down the window goes down automatically from any window position Phase 1, door and console switches, at least. and the chorus is haven't had a Kit Kat in years

The other volvo models I've had (S80 and XC90) both had the auto function for going up and down. Not only for the driver's window but also for the front passenger. I've tried asking if there was an option for the auto for up and down (like changing the button etc) , unfortunately it just wasn't available for this series.

Auto 'up' would require and anti-trap sensor to stop and reverse the window if for instance you got your head stuck in it.

My son 'tried it out' and it stopped, then wound down an inch or so again, without injuring his fingers, thankfully. Could have had a large patch of blood on the door trim! Gary
