Default New owner - New faults

So, I've had my 2005 V50 2.0d for 2 weeks now. It's currently sitting at 143,000 miles and generally in good condition. It drives nice and smooth and has plenty power for an old bus.

The issue I have is the notorious rough/lumpy idle. After doing some research on here and replacing/repairing all the items mentioned in previous posts, the lumpy idle still presents itself 60% of the time. However, it has gradually become better after replacing all of the below items, but the fault still persists intermittently and is driving me crazy -

Replaced the MAF sensor
Removed and cleaned the throttle body
Blanked and disconnected the EGR valve (don't shoot me)
Replaced the fuel filter and 'O' ring (housing is fine)
Fault codes read and reset (nothing relating to engine operation)
Engine software upgrade via VIDA

It's probably worth mentioning there is no DPF on the car and the engine runs smooth when driving. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please as to what is causing this?

Thanks.
