To me it just looks right. Not over the top just nice touches here and there, and the colour is great, not sure what blue it is as I dont have any brouchers on the 240, but will try to find out.

These were nice wheels I was watching on ebay. Expensive though, and I console myself with the fact thay're terrible to keep clean.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...222679874&rd=1 Some good galleries on this link... http://www.vikeboe.com/galleri.html ... a few of my favourites below (look at the size of the turbo on the red 240!) Cheers |

In light of this and to finally answer your question, the stainless steel roof bar kit was an accessory available to the US market (perhaps Europe and Australia too, but not the UK.) By the mid-80s 'black trim' was introduced to the kit to match the new black window surround trim. I'm also sure a black roof rail kit was available as an accessory kit on some markets but the only UK models I've seen the black rails fitted to is the last-in-the-line Torslanda, but even these rails are different from the original stainless steel kit. Hope this helps! If anybody else has any further information let me know as I am also interested! Also, do you know who, or does anybody have any information on the person behind that awesome vector art of the ruby 244? I'm quite impressed... |

You could use the bright finish roof bars fitted to some 7 series estates in the UK

I found some more nice alloys, on 245 and 142; the latter which is a proper racer has monster brakes as well.
Also, added the 244 photo because it made me laugh... 240s need more roll stiffness before cornering really fast! (And I know from experience that a standard 164 is worse... sorted now though) |
