Default V40 Roof Rails

just checking...

I like the look of rails, but mine didn't come with them fitted.

I've been offered a set via a net based breaker for £250 all in. This seems a bit much but i do know they're expensive.

any good places to look? I don't really trust ebay although i've never used it

I looked into this last year, I was in the same position as you. £250 s/h or £400 new.

In the end i didn't get either, but a set of genuine bars (across the car) for £40 on ebay, brand new in genuine box. certainly cheaper, and for the one or two times each year i carry something on the roof, more than adequate, and easy to remove when not needed.

Default cheers

To be honest, I'm not even sure that I would carry stuff on the roof - I just like the look of them! They seem to add a touch of class and maybe make it look a little better.

I assume that the fuel consumpion will suffer but not by much.

I agree, they do actually look better, I originally wanted a car with them.

I don't know if they make much difference to fuel consumption, but if you do enough miles, the i suppose it would add up, as the rails would cause drag of sorst.

Any that come up on eBay always seem to go for at least £175 + P&P irrespective of condition - I'm continually looking for a pair but really don't want to pay that much. It's all driven by the 'new' price though........

Default Nordic

I saw a mention of Nordic spares and registered with them to see what price their rails might be.

I was disappointed to see that all you get afetr registering and waiting to be allowed access to the ssite is a list and of part numbers. No pictures or prices.

Do they do discount for membership of the club? and if so, anybody know how much? I know i could ask them

Alright, what is the website address for this nordic spares, I'm looking for dog guard attactment and got the part number from the volvo dealer.

I too think the roof rails looks good and have found the same, about £170-£180ish on ebay and around £300 new from the dealer or www.partsforvolvosonline.com which does have a good selection of parts but costs around the same as a main dealer.
