Default Alternator change

Hi guys,

iam now rebuilding my amazon and i have boch alternator working on my b20 engine with external power regulator, i wanted to change to new spec alternator where regulator is alreay in the alternator, because iam making new wires for carr so want to take that regulator out. maybe you can suggest witch boch alternator i should use so it fits??? maybe model nr?
how i understood its good to usa 60A or 80A, but not 100A because it makes to big stress on water pump...

Hazaa;

Unless you have some huge additional elec loads which you need to power, I think you'll find that a 60A Alt output will be PLENTY, and it will serve to keep the elec buss voltage pulled up and allow all loads to function with maximum voltage (while still charging the Bat)!

I offer the Delco Alt based kit, and I have compiled much info (and a lot of it will be applicable, or at least of interest to you) here ( https://www.sw-em.com/altkit_additional.htm ), but cannot offer specific help for the Bosch Alt...as I understand it the Alt case on late, internal VReg units will fit the OE B20 pivot (and so also the IPD retrofit pivot), I do request that anyone with hands-on experience in this area can confirm or deny, and give details on this)...so once someone confirms this, I expect you could simply procure an Alt specified for the 240/740, and wire it based on the Wiring Diagrams of their original installation.

I hope this helps a bit.

Cheers
