10% is a big power drop - it should be less than a 5% drop. Even with the early landi systems that volvo used it should have been better than that.

The distrubutor systems have been one of the most damaging type of systems to the LPG industry and should have never made it as a volvo factory fit. Sadly volvo continued using this type of system way after much better injection systems came out.

The modern LPG injection systems are very good (odd ones are of poor quality) but the biggest issues tend to be poorly installed / set up systems.

Hi,

I use 20% extra fuel.

I get 20mpg on petrol and 16 on LPG.

I have a BRC system, fitted about 1.5 years ago and done 30,000 miles with it and so far (touch wood) it has been fine.

I was just wondering do you think I could improve the % diffrence as It would be good to be closer to 5% than 20%.

The car is serviced on time, and on the last LPG service the filter was lovely and clean so looks like its running ok.

I doubt that remapping will get you any better MPG. I would have said the limitation of the BRC is the injectors as they are not quite as precies as some of the others available.

For improved MPG (I asume you drive quite hard given your mpg) would be to look a a decat and possibly a free flowing exhaust would possible give 1 - 3 mpg improvemnt.

Thanks for the tip. I have been looking at exhausts but need to save a bit.

I dont drive that hard to be honest. I do every now and then but no more than most I would say. The low MPG is down to my commute. Lots of sitting in traffic.

i have lpg in my boat, it's the older type system drawn through the carb and set to run on an average but it uses the same amount of gas or petrol and runs much better on the gas.
more power much smoother, it's a 4.3ltr v6 with a two barrel holly carb.
will use about a ltr a mile if i take it easy.
no where near as bad as my last boat, it was a 225hp v6 two stroke and could burn 22gallons an hour.
glad it's gone!
