Default XC60 D5 Glowplug Relay??

Hi All

Xc60 D5 2011

Have an issue where the glowplugs are not working, Pig to start when temps are low

Been told it could be the relay as plugs have been changed

Can anyone tell us where it is? Not found it in any searches

TIA

Just looked in my Haynes manual and unfortunately it mentions a relay and 5 glow plugs in the system but doesn’t mention the relay again or show where it is or what it looks like , sorry.
It does say the system is controlled by the EDC, electronic diesel control system.
Fuses F35 (10A) and F42 (70A) engine fusebox.

Hello

Well an S60 with same engine has the relay against the nearside headlight and air intake as do the V70/Xc70 variants

I wonder if it is the same for the XC60?

I think @37_Ruby is right. This is what the Volvo Wiring manual says for 2011 XC60

Check the operation of the glowplugs first before buying a new relay.

cheshired5 ( member on here ) has done a very good video.

In addition, check what voltage plugs are required for your car . They are not all the same. Some are 12 volts others around 4 volts.
