I'd ask them to leave them off the service and whip down to Halfords. Or replace them before the service.

Years ago we had a fantastic Mercedes dealer (we drove by 2 to get there) they were dealer of the year several times.
For things like this, even brake pads, if you said no, they would quote you on the parts only and leave them in the boot, usually with extra free screen wash and an air freshener or such. They dont exist anymore, Mercedes wanted them to build a new showroom and buy out the next towns franchise, they could not finance it and had the rug pulled. For me good service is a lot better than a taller showroom with more glass!
