I have it firmly switched off. Having to fight against it when changing lane (sometimes when indicating, in my car at least) is disconcerting, and on one occasion it was trying to work against me as I was trying to make an evasive manoeuvre in response to a vehicle cutting across my lane.

My sister has a Subaru with this system. They recommend it’s used on motorways only.

No - i expressed it badly. I was on an A road, probably fairly close but in normal driving position in relation to the centre line, and it seemed to want to steer me to the left having sensed the traffic coming towards me the other side of the centre line. The dealer just said yes it does that to assist you. It was assistance I could do without because i was driving normally, and thus the surprise of it nearly caused me to over correct the steering back towards the centre.

I expect I'll either get used to it when the car arrives, or switch it off!

I believe you can fine adjust it in the menu , it is not there for everyday use , but to possibly save a nasty accident if you are distracted or even fall asleep .

Good rule of thumb I've found works with most cars is to use the Urban official figure, the worst of the three, as the normal expected careful long distance driving average to be expected.
20% less mpg from the above figure for shorter journeys and town driving or for spirited longer drives.

I'm seldom disappointed.
