New Brake Discs
Hi everyone..
I'm looking for some new front Brake Discs the ones I have now have only lasted me about 18mths (so it seems you get what you pay for!) So which ones should I go for and what sort of price? I was thinking something like the Brembo Brake Disc (make her look even more sporting! ) she's a 04 s40 1.9D Sport.. thanks chaps.. Martin....

I use Pagid discs and pads from ECP and am quite happy with them.

I always use Brembo or MEYLE.The last one exeeds the spec from oem disks and pads. You find them on internet and they deliver from Londen (https://www.meyle.com/en/locations/great-britain/).You find them nalso on EBAY.
Worth looking. |

I second the Pagid discs and pads as a personal choice (don't change the discs and not the pads). However, Blueprint, BREMBO and Meyle are also an excellent choice. Everyone used to rave about Mintex, but in personal experience on an MG TF they seem to have gone downhill over the years.
Of course, the ultimates are genuine Volvo. Looking back at the service history on mine, a set of genuine Volvo front discs and pads were fitted at 116K miles (by a Volvo dealer) just before I bought the car. I'm now on 153K and I'm just getting to the stage where pads could do with changing, but the discs will last another set of pads because there is virtually no lip on them.

For the cost of discounted parts from FRF, I always fit genuine.

I've had really good luck with Brembo discs and Akebono pads. You sacrifice ever so slightly on grip vs. OEM but so much less brake dust. I just got tired of cleaning my wheels only to have them black as could be 2 weeks later.
