Milometer gear replacement.
So, after having a repair kit sat around for at least 2 months I've finally gotten round to fitting it... top tip, make sure you've got a torx 8..... I didn't and had to improvise to remove the milometer from the instrument cluster. Nice to see how far I've gone and watch it go whirling round once again though, gave the back of the heater vents a good clean while I was at it as you wouldn't believe the amount of crud that gets stuck in the grilles.

I got mine on eBay, search for Volvo 850 odometer gear.
This guide covers most of what you need to know. https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/od...volvo-850.html The guide shows the dash being lifted while still attached at the opposite side. I prefer to take the last screw out and remove the dash top altogether, rather than trying to work around it and risk breaking it. The other thing they don't mention is that the vents at each side (the ones that you can't see with the door shut) are held on by screws that are hidden behind a cover.
