No wonder he's a mobile mechanic, moving targets are harder to hit!

How many times has that mechanic attended and how much have you paid them? There are good mobile mechanics/diagnosticians. And good ones in garages. I really think you actually need to find a good garage. I am "not convinced" re meths when a car actually just won't start. Anyway, tell me please. Was the car ever starting and running OK and if so when? Now, when did starting problems start and did they arise as poor starting or not starting? .... &c. &c. Tell the story in nice simple terms from the beginning. Please mention anything and everything that has happened or been done to the car during that period of time. And. PLEASE. Answer the actual questions that the "expert" people ask you. As always, good luck. |

And for example. What EXACTLY happens when you try to start the engne, with or without Easy Start?
And for example have the plugs or plug leads been removed changed disconnected? Did the leads go back correctly? Ahem. I walked away from my brother in law's VW horizontally opposed twin when he pulled off all the plug leads and did not know which had been connected to which plug. I find it difficult to be patient with that person generally....and I was tired. He had escalated a broken fan belt in to a disaaarster... . |

90% of all fuel problems are ignitiom related.
I got most of informations of your car together. Still : has the engine a spark at the central lead of the dizzy? If yes, does it have spark on all 4 spark plugs? Did you swap the firing order? Still 2: Your car isn't with a CSP Still 3: Do you own or have access to a multimeter? Do you know how to use it? I can't help you otherwise. We have to go step by step. There is no whish free anymore Good luck, Kay Last edited by mocambique-amazone; May 26th, 2019 at 19:04. |

Doesn't have it. Either duff fuel or cam timing is out.

this car dont have a cps.ive checked all plugs today and they all have good spark also checked the timing marks on the belts and they all match up also the leads are in the right order and even if they were not it would still turn over.no multi meter.

You don't know if it was fitted correctly in the first place andbecause the distance between the marks isn't even, there will only come a once in a lifetime occasion when they are in perfect alignment again. Use the pointers on the pulleys and timing covers to check the timing. As far as i'm concerned, you either have condensation in the fuel (the meths will sort this after a few minutes of cranking) or the cam and hence ignition timing is out - you MUST check the pointers on the pulleys and timing covers and "near enough" ISN'T good enough!
