VIDA adjust of Auto Dimming Interior mirror?
I had assumed that the auto-dimming of my interior mirror wasn't working properly as I have always been blinded by cars behind me. So I finally bought a replacement genuine secondhand mirror glass but that is just as bad as my original. When removed, both the old and new mirrors go dark or light by applying a 1.5v battery to the wires as a test.
My question is, can I use VIDA to increase the sensitivity or intensity of the mirror dimming function to make it go darker? I can't find that adjustment myself, but I'm not a VIDA expert.

1) don't think vida can offer mirror adjustment.
2) 99% interior mirrors can not be swapped for 2nd hand unit. 3) mirror comprises an electronics bit and a physical bit and it's the physical bit that fails in 85%+ instances. I have seen a YouTube video of how u remove the two bits from each other ( basic soldering ability needed ) and swop across the physical bits. The car still sees the original electronics bit and that then makes the "good/replaced" physical bit work. Cheers Bob |

Yes, indeed, and I have desoldered just the mirror glass from all the electronics.
Both my original and the replacement glass do go dim when fitted to the car and a torch is shone at the rear-facing sensor. The trouble is that they do not go anything like dim enough to cope with the extremely bright headlights fitted to some modern cars. The mirror is dangerous as it is. My V70 is a standard T5, which I guess may have a lower ride height than some other spec versions, but in my case my mirror is low enough to be on or even below the dip-beam upper cut-off point of headlights on higher vehicles behind me like 4x4's, MPV's, vans and SUV's etc. This gives very bright, or even flashing lights as the vehicles behind go over bumps in the road which completely blinds me to the oncoming traffic.

Fit rear window blinds?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volvo-V70...YAAOSw4-hZuO19 I used to have privicy glass tins on my old Honda estate (standard fitment) that made a significant difference.

That's very tempting.
And as it's so often an Audi with its headlights just a couple of feet from my rear bumper, maybe I should have "Vorsprung durch Technik" written on the rear blind in large letters? Or perhaps even "Fördel genom teknik" which Google tells me is it translated into Swedish :-)

We’ve done similar, got a 95% tint on all the rear windows. The rear view never tries to change anymore.
