I will be looking to get mine done. First car I have had that even after 3 years feels like it is still current with technology and at a reasonable cost. This was my first experience with buying Volvo and I have been impressed so far even with some of the niggles I had initially. The icing on the cake would be (dare I say it) if they offered an upgrade to solve the road noise as my experience with the GLE & GLS Mercedes loan cars recently just re-enforced how noisy the Volvo is in comparison.

My car was in the dealers today, mainly to get the Steering Wheel Right Hand key pad faults rectified.
Whilst there, I mentioned the Intellisafe upgrade and they had not heard about it.
Was able to show them the personal email, that some of us got from Volvo UK and because I do not have Blis, they will have to investigate further.

Regarding the key pad faults, this is the first time that I have had work carried out under the Volvo Extended Warranty.
I took all the documentation with me, but it was not required, as they just make a phone call.

Are you using the old Harratts (now Riverside) dealer in Wakefield? Would be interested in whether people think that service is better/worse or the same following the takeover....

I bought my car there when it was Harratts so Riverside Wakefield is my dealer now.

I'd say things have improved and seems like the staff have undergone some customer-focused training. They've given the place a lick of paint but the site is wholly inadequate and showing its age in many ways. Parking is next to impossible when you go there. I asked if they had any plans to move to a larger, purpose built site but it seems that's some way off. If Volvo maintain their recent growth, I don't see how Wakefield will cope where it is.

The car has just been picked up by them for the EGR fix and to get the new Intellisafe upgrade (£75).

I think I know the answer but just checking in before deciding to part my £75 -

I dont have BLIS in my XC90 D5 - 17 plate atmo, am I right in assuming I would still get some of the features that is listed as an upgrade, should I do so? I have Adaptive CC and Pilot assist in the car.

Also, can anyone advise if I go for a paid software upgrade, it would be the latest one I would get? I know, logically it would be but wanted to double check as I still seem to have very old software - I base this on the fact that I still have old looking Auto Stop/Start and Pilot Assist symbols on the dashboard.

Thanks

The attached image certainly implies that.

I'd very surprised if updating the car to the latest s/w versions isn't a requirement of the Intellisafe upgrade anyway. If not, I'd certainly ask them to do it (for free) as part of the upgrade.

Thank you so much mate, appreciate the input. I am little confused having referred to Option 1 in the screenshot - Is "Run-off Road Mitigation" same as Lane Keeping? If not, I am confused as to if I have Intellisafe at all

Have you tried Clive Brook Huddersfield as I have found them to be great.

The two are very similar. I think the difference is that RRM will invoke braking as well as steering whereas LKA is steering only. Both systems require adequate road markings.

Afaik, all XC90s have some form of Intellisafe. BLIS was/is an option.
