Default Wireless CarPlay

The title is a bit of a clickbait, I admit But has anyone on here tried one of these dongles:

https://carplay2air.com

According to manufacturer- it supports Volvo 2016-> models..

I’m sort of sick & tired waiting for Volvo to enable it on our cars..

has anyone taken the plunge yet? I have and I am waiting for adapter to arrive which will allow wireless CarPlay. It just plugs into the CarPlay usb socket. I have also ordered a Qi charger designed for the S/XC range.

Keen to know how both of these items work out. Can you provide a review once you’ve tested them?
Thanks

I had a rental 7 series with wireless apple car play, some things lagged ever so slightly which was fine, but the worst thing is, with wireless carplay and charging the thing loses charge quicker than the wireless charger can charge it!!!!!

This was an 11 Pro Max so other phones might be different.

if that's true- than there's really no point investing in the dongle..

D3GGY, please do share your experience once you get to install/use it for a few days.

I can only vouch for the wireless charging pad in the BMW 7 Series, don't know what wattage it puts out.

I know the iPhone 11 series take a wireless charge at 7.5W though and the new fast chargers in the box charge up to 18W but that cable.

My iPhone 11 came with a 5W charger even though it supports fast charging. As I have a USB-C fast charger that came with my Android phone I bought a USB-C to Lightning cable for about £5 and use that to charge the iPhone. It initially charges at 18W so I assume it's using the 9V at 2A spec. Incidentally, my iPad Air 3 that came with a 10W charger also charges at 18W with the USB-C charger. The reductions in charging time are very noticeable. It's typical Apple to expect you to pay extra for their £29 fast charger.

The phone charges at 5W with my wireless charger but I guess that's a limit of the wireless pad.

Until I am happy with the care rate I won't be removing the Brodit cradle I have installed with a direct connection to the USB port.

Rather hoping both bits turn up tomorrow, they are both in the country and on the last leg to me.

Will keep you posted.

That part looks pretty cool!

Has anyone else used it so far in a UK RHD car?

Not sure I'd trust it what if it blew up!!
