Lambda light on.
Hi
My 240 GLT has the Lambda light on. This happened after the car the front tyres were changed. The car was jacked up on a trolley jack and I was wondering if this may have damaged the sensor in some way. I checked the fault codes and initially got a 1-2-1 faulty signal from air mass meter. I cleared the codes and this did not reappear, now giving 1-1-1. The car appears to be running fine. I profess to being mystified by the workings of injection systems and how the lambda sensor interacts with engine running. All advice welcome. |

Similar problem
I've also been having issues with my lambda light, it has come on twice now both times showing the same 1-2-1 fault. Each time the car spluttered a little for about 10 seconds as if there was a fuelling issue (dirt in the injectors maybe). First time I took it into my local garage as I needed the exhaust changing anyway and I thought that this was probably not helping. The mechanic found nothing wrong so reset the light and all was well until it happened again.
The second time I went after the fault myself and using the Haynes manual and a multimeter checked all the MAF readings, and sure enough the resistance was spot on and the little voltage surge occured just as I turned the engine off. The car drives fine and if anything my mpg seems slightly better so I am currently ignoring the light. Just one question - how do you reset the light, I have followed the procedure in the manual and the light stays on, or does this mean that there is some other fault? My car is a 1992 SE with a B230F engine Thanks Last edited by JustinH; Jun 5th, 2007 at 19:45. Reason: engine type added |

Try disconnecting battery for ten minutes (make sure you have radio code). This always works.

There can be up to 3 codes stored, I think, in each of the two sockets.
