142 for sale
I have owned this 1971 RHD 142 since about 1998,and it has not been driven since I picked it up!I have had it parked in a shed, and due to changes of plans it will have to go.I pumped some fresh fuel into the carb on saturday, bypassed the ignition switch as the terminal on the coil feed wire had broken off,put some jump leads on it and it struck up quite nicely and ticked over sweetly.I drove it from its shed and gave it a wash and clean up.The brakes will obviously need seeing to though they do sort of work, but engine and gearbox (non overdrive manual)seem good.I have a pair of new sills for it and the rear offside wheel arch and rear corner will need some attention.Newish looking red rider front shocks fitted. It has had some welding to the usual places floor and bonnet hinge area.i think it has had a new front panel as it is still in primer on the inside.I was originally intending to build it into a long distance historic rally car,but I have too many other things to do.I will probabaly advertise it on classiccars for sale.com in due course, but wantd to offer it to you guys on here first. It was originally owned by the swedish post office and was imported in1991.It is classed as a historic vehicle so will be tax exempt.Value?tricky one,but they are not too common, and without too much work will make a good car.Paintwork has odd dings and scratches from storage.Viewing is possible in wensleydale, north yorks.phone me (Dave) on 07941 342185 or e.mail dave@langdonwright.freeserve.co.uk

I very much hope that the car gets restored rather than broken; RHD 142s are certainly rare.
On the other hand, although it could possibly be patched up enough to get it through an MOT, in my opinion the car would need extensive restoration to make it an A1 specimen which could justify a high valuation through it's condition and rarity. I'd certainly enjoy following the project if someone on here took it on! Best of luck with the sale. John |
