Default Green Books for 940

Hi all esp Peter,
Noticed in the querry below on the smokin' diesel that it is possible to get the Gren Books. What is the most recommended to have, how much should I expect to pay, is this the kind of thing I can pick up at Gaydon.

The Haynes manual is no for the illiterati on the wiring diagram but would probably chose that as the first and most important. What else?

Many thanks
Tony Stanford-Beale

As you say Tony the Wiring diagram book for your model year of car would be very helpful. Also the Engine books for the engine fitted to your car which come in two or three sections for each engine. There are transmission books, body books and suspension books. They run at about £20 - 30 each and you need a co-operative dealer who is prepared to look up the part numbers for the books from the Publication numbers for each book. The Chilton manual is similar to Haynes but the wiring diagrams are also next to useless. Sometimes one or two Green Books can be picked up at Gaydon, I picked up three last year.

All the best, Peter
