The straight bit on the runway is about 1.1 miles and yes the whole course is 3 miles.

You should easily be able to get 140+ on the straight!! I managed 137 in my standard auto last Nov when doing some,, er,,,, runway 'testing'. We used to run 4 miles with 3 long straights but people told us it wasn't very demanding and dare I say it, it was a bit boring to drive. We are quite proud of our new layout and it uses 90% new surface which make for some very quick cornering. With the fact there is no real landmarks to gauge speed you'll have to keep a very close eye on your speedo. Last year I was in a Astra diesel as mine had split one of the CV boots and I came to the end of the main drag and had a quick look at the speedo,,,,, oh sh*t!! I thought as I went into the left hander at over 100mph. I was very pleased when I came out the other end and I now know just how grippy the surface is.

How many cars will be on the track at once, and will we be split into groups depending on our track experience.

i wouldnt worry about the speed you can get to - its teh right hander at the end of teh straight . approaching at 130 mph in a car youve just put together and never driven round corners , can be interestinig , especially with the wrong springs on the back .
