Don't forget to beg/borrow/steal cam locking tools! Something like this would be suitable I think. Though I stand to be corrected...

I have never seen it but have a look now that you are at that stage and it may be a short cut worth knowing!

Good Luck
Thank you very much. Yes, I think the issue may be more visible in this picture.

I'll have a closer look if I ever manage to be at home when it's light... and I'll bear the tip in mind.

Dog, have a look at a thread entitled S40 wheel refurb 136k. Not sure where it is but likely to be general motoring or showroom. The last part of the thread made me laugh.

Yeah ok but isn't the 2.0D the engine everyone says to steer clear of as its the poo Ford engine? Also people moan about the electrics on those cars no?
Admittedly my Vectra has now had all the things that they are renown to go replaced now and yes alot earlier than and more issues engine wise than my old Volvo.
I weighed up the odds and bought a cheap car which after its over servicing lol it still cheaper than less spec's cars from a dealer which after a year or sooner would have the same issues and its lower miles to
I just gave up thinking i can buy a car that's going to match the V40 for reliability so got a cheap nice one with known issues oh and some unknown lol

Like ive told anyone, its been longer than i can remember where ive had to replace an alternator on a car.... battery's yes suspension and bushes yes brakes yes... But also at the end of the day ive got a rapid big estate that's sporty and i can wire things into etc for alot less than if i had gone for a low mileage V50 D5 which i would have looked for more if they didn't have that stupid stereo that you cant take out

Checked VIDA and there is nothing at all about torque settings for the P1 2.0......

On another note, a friend told me that a scrappy fairly local to me has a complete P1 2.0, so if you need a complete new head, let me know and I can remove it next weekend. Their prices are quite reasonable too, so it would not cost an arm and a leg.
