Default Engine Mounts

Hi,

I believe my engine mount has failed. The gear stick shows quite a bit of movement when pulsing the accelerator and the middle exhaust section is banging against the underside of the car.

Any ideas on how to check this or if it’s a common issue, I guess at 17yeara old it might be an idea to replace all 3 mounts?

Thanks

Get a helper to watch with the bonnet up and engine running, get the handbrake on as hard as it will go and then let the clutch out in gear as if you're pulling away, I wouldn't do it too harshly as the clutch won't particularly enjoy it but give it a bit of a jolt a couple of times, the engine will show a fair amount of movement if a mount has gone weak or bust.
