Vacuum hose with venturi valve - alternatives to OEM?

T5 owners or anyone with knowledge - please help me out here.
Looking for this valve, its on vacuum piping going out from inlet manifold to brake booster.
Oem part number 30736695 is the whole harness and costs over 200e, its also different p/n from LHD version, but I suspect valve is the same.
Anyone replaced this with alternative valve, from another car or even engine model? Looking at other hoses from XC or 2.4 non turbo all valves look similar but yet different. Its not easy to find a scrapper care here either to cut it out of, so I am limited mostly to ebay or online scrappers.

Anyone had similar problem? Any suggestions welcome

I managed to source full vacuum harness from scrapyard for mere 30e so if it works I am sorted, if not - VAG replacement.

My mech said its *seem* to be not working correctly after investigating whole vacuum/turbo piping while searching for that boost leak of mine. I reckon its a side-issue, but will see - no harm to try another one. He was right with that gray plastic valve so I trust his hunch
