I find the aquablades the most efficient wipers I've ever had on any car, bar none. And to my surprise (as said earlier..) they are more durable than what I expected - I'm at nearly 2 years of ownership/42K kms - and they are still working as well as new
That has always been a feature of volvo wiper blades as far as i can remember . usual life is around 4 winters , whilst halfords Bosch are just one season and that's less than a year when i tried them on a non volvo car ..

My car is going to the dealer for a 2nd time because of clogged water jets. I use Volvo screen wash so not sure what is causing it - maybe it is hard v soft water issue as others have suggested. I wonder whether using bottled water might help but seems extremely middle class thing to do

Only if it’s San Pelligrino. Evian is fine.

Sorry but that's not what my dealer told me when my rear wiper stopped pushing out water. I had white residue and the odd smattering of water. Pp working as I can hear it and water Btl full. Called dealer (truro) and he said it was a common problem (white residue blocking the pipe) with the Volvo fluid. Booked in on Thursday and they have booked a Value for me just in case.

It is not uncommon for one of the dealer's employees to be wrong and he is in this case !
He has no idea what sort of fluid the owner or ex owners have been using , it takes quite a while for deposits to build up .. I am surprised he is slagging their own fluid off ... what is is his position in the company a driver , or a new recruit ?

Volvo fluid is virtually methylated spirit which leaves no residue whatsoever ...

It could also be calcium deposits from hard water of course ...
Have you had the car from new and always used volvo wash fluid ?

As I have said earlier in this thread, mine blocked up the first summer I had it had never even refilled the washer bottle when it happened. White deposits all over the bonnet from the headlamp washers and on the windscreen scuttle. Rear washer blocked completely which I sorted by cleaning the rear washer one way valve which is behind the panel at the top of the boot lid. It blocked again this summer and same cure. Wiper blades are now partially blocked which I will report at next service in December. This is definitely a common problem as there was a long earlier thread about it. It was thought at the time that this was caused by some coating inside the pipes.

certainly not common out there on the roads i see 20 or 30 a day and the only rare ones with this deposit have volvo fluid put in and that sorts it , are you sure your water isn't hard? might be worth getting it analysed ... Heated nozzles don't help as they make the deposits dry up easier ..

Clan as I said I hadn’t even put any water or fluid in the bottle when it first happened and I also live in a soft water area, even softer e the car came from as that was in the Lake District

I also get the white deposits and it started happening first time washers were used from new. I’ve not had to fill it up yet so it’s certainly nothing to do with what I’ve done. Nothing blocked yet thankfully but it is annoying getting white spots up the side of the windscreen and on the red paintwork.
