1997 (p) 850 tdi

Time has come to pass on our old girl.
She's done us proud over the last 8yrs, started without fault, ferried around our kids and dog safely.

Blue 850 TDI Estate circa 175,000 miles - £250
MOT'd til 6th Mar 2020
Due to age and condition she's probably best as spares or repairs.
5x good tyres, runs slightly rough - suspected failing injector.
Recent oil & filter change.
Succumbed to the Volvo paintwork issue so some flaking laquer etc.
Usual battles scars for car of this age.
Everything else works will drive away - collection from Exeter.

Will post photos if any interest.

Hi Joseph,

It drives well, but as mentioned runs a bit rough.

I’m told it might be fuel pump timing or an injector ( localism independence doubts it an injector as these are “supposedly bulletproof “)

It’s not the cleanest /prettiest example by its reliable and if fixed could see you on for a few more miles yet.

If it ever stops raining here in Devon I’ll sit out some photos.

Hi Barry,

It could be the pump timing, I currently have an 850 TDI and it isn’t running too well at present, but I’ve got three 850s (2x T-5s and a TDI), so I know them quite well.

No probs at all, no rush for pics as I know what it can be like weather wise, in saying that though it’s pure sunshine here just now on the west coast of Scotland!

Here are some pics of the car I managed to take before the light faded.

You can see the lacquer has lifted off around the rear offside wheel arch and rear spoiler.
I have a spare blue spoiler with no paintwork issues which can be included.

Damage to nearside rear wheel arch as shown, also rust on front passenger door and over painted (before we got it) dent on drivers door.

I'll check log book but from memory only 3 owners with some Service history - I've kept up to oil changes etc myself.

Dash is lifting on passenger side as shown and roof lining is a bit floppy!

I'm probably not doing the best sales job, but would rather you know what she's like than waste mine and anyone else's time.

On a positive note, shes reliable and has sailed through MOT's with few advisories in the time we have had her.
Only selling on as our 4yrs kids are starting to complain about the paintwork and my partner would like a newer car!!
Aircon, sunroof and front heated seats all work.

Can provide spare number plate to go with single electrics towbar and there's a fitted liner tray in boot.
